Patients – Treatment

TREATMENT

There are many treatment options available for you to discuss with your doctor that may provide relief of your pain and help improve your quality of life.  Some non-surgical options to discuss with your doctor are:

  • Chiropractic care
  • Physical therapy
  • SI joint belt
  • Oral medication
  • Injections to the SI joint
  • Weight loss

Some of these non-surgical options may only provide temporary relief and your physician may indicate that SI joint surgery would be beneficial.

SI Joint Fusion with the SICAGE® Implant System

The SICAGE® Implant System is a minimally invasive SI joint fusion procedure that is designed to provide the surgeons with new technology that may provide a shortened surgery time, faster recovery, and true arthrodesis (fusion).

A typical SI joint fusion with the SICAGE® System will consist of a surgical procedure done under general anesthesia where a small incision (approximately 1 in.) is made and typically three SICAGE® Implants are placed across the SI joint.  In most cases, the procedure is completed within 30 minutes.  Following surgery, the patient is normally out of bed and discharged within 24 hours following surgery.  Instructions on any weight bearing restrictions and follow up appointments will be discussed during discharge.

If you believe you have been experiencing symptoms of SI joint dysfunction and would benefit from a SI joint fusion and would like to find a physician trained on the SICAGE® System, please contact Sicage, LLC.
